PILATES: Similar to yoga but emphasises is on your body’s core — the abdomen, obliques, lower back, inner and outer thigh, glutes, and so on. For this reason, Pilates develops much of what exercisers need — strength, flexibility, muscular endurance, coordination, balance, and good posture — with a much lower chance of injury than with other forms of exercise. The discipline emphasises correct form instead of going for the burn and is a great way of cross-training or as a stand-alone class – anyone who sits at a desk for long hours will hugely benefit from this class.
